Dining Out My Window
It’s early April and already they have the tables up for al fresco dining under my window. Petit Pois has had tables up all winter for the occasional sunny warm day where intrepid business people would sit out for lunch during the week.
Now Zocalos has opened up for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as for evening dining. I love to hear the soft chatter and laughter that filters up through my windows. It is a joy to be witness to people enjoying the pleasure of good food and good company.

Both restaurants are set up for dinner on this lovely spring day.

Even the squirrel who visits outside my window enjoys the crumbs left behind.

It’s graduation weekend 2008 and because there is a chance of rain, Zocalo has put up a big tent so diners can still eat outdoors. It took them all morning to set the tent up around the tree but they did a good job and now I get to see this great white expanse for the next few days.

This is such a fun photo because the staff are outside Zocalos folding napkins on a sunny afternoon. It has such an almost French provincial feel to it- where all the locals communally share a task while chatting and enjoying each other as they do it.
